Okay, it’s not Groundhog Day today, that was days ago. I just feel like I’m having one of those days that repeats itself, you know, like in the movie.
You see, last week, Super Nanny announced that she was taking a new job. I knew it was coming but the speed of it all still took me a little by surprise. Then, she had decided to stick around for a little bit longer. Over the weekend, she had an epiphany. And today, she officially gave us notice. Deja vu #1.
You’ll notice, if you’ve been paying attention to my progress graphs in the sidebar that my novel word count is down. As in I’m going backwards. Somehow, Word lost all of my edits for the last week. The entire file disappeared and was renamed. I lost about a page (not as bad as first feared when I thought I lost 2000 words). So, I have to start editing the same chapter again. Deja vu #2.
I contacted my old blogging channel today. You may recall that I was slated to join last fall for my taxgirl blog. Things didn’t work out. So tomorrow, I’m having a conversation with the channel about blogging for them. I had a similar conversation last summer. Deja vu #3.
I put a load of laundry in the wash. I folded two hampers full of clothes. I do this almost every damn day now. How can so few people use so many clothes? When it warms up, I am limiting everyone to one pair of underwear and their choice of a shirt or pants, but not both. None of this layering/mixing/matching nonsense. Choose an item of clothing and commit. I can’t possibly conserve more while using insane amounts of water every day to wash clothes. Doing laundry would be deja vu #4.
So I feel as though I’ve taken a giant step backwards over the past few days and just started again doing the same things. Sigh. All of this starting and restarting is awfully tiresome.
On the plus side, it may break 20 degrees here tomorrow. Wa-hoo!
