Geraldo and Me: Like this

April 6, 2007

Oh Gosh. I find myself agreeing with Geraldo. Something bad is going to happen to me today, isn’t it?

"We’ve seen Bill lose it before, but I think this one is the wildest segments I’ve ever seen. I really thought Bill was going to haul off an upper cut to Geraldo’s jaw. Geraldo yelled at O’Reilly that the way he used this case was " A SIN!""

It’s scary, isn’t it, when you agree with Geraldo? It had me checking my head for a fever. Well, apparently stopped clocks and Geraldo are right some of the time.

That was quite a performance! PS Bill O’Reilly has cultivated his outrageousness — it’s a pose that’s become a profitable way of life.

I’ve aid this before and I’ll say it now. I’m all for securing our borders and developing a comprehensive immigration process that actually works and is feasible.
Having said this, I feel that some individuals and pundits (i.e Bill O’Reilly) mask xenophobia and sometimes racism as “patriotism.” If I wanted to look back at our country’s history, I could cite example after example of groups that used terms as patriotism to make their crusade against various groups (Irish, Eastern Europeans, Japanese and Chinese, etc). I have no doubt in my mind that O’Reilly is a xenophobe/racist.
I am all for anybody exercising their opinion. I’m sure that there are some intelligent right-wingers. I just wish that they would wise up and quit giving O’Reilly any more attention.
