More Updates.

Charlie is feeling much better tonight. Last night, he was just miserable. He slept with us for a few hours while his fever broke and then he moved back into his crib.

Amy has decided that she doesn’t like going to school. This is a new development. She and I chatted about it and she said that she doesn’t like “the boys that fight.” I talked to her teacher and apparently there are a couple of boys that are rough. They don’t rough house with Amy, but it still bothers her. Her teacher and I came up with a redirect strategy wherein if the boys are playing rough near Amy, the teacher will move her to another activity. I think this is a good solution. Amy really is a sensitive little girl and she reacts big to events. I don’t want to make this about the boys and I don’t want to make it bigger than it is.

Katie has been practicing reading. She really is getting much better at recognizing words and letters and sounding them out. This has not gone unnoticed by Amy. She is now also fascinated by words and letters, stopping at new signs to read the letters out loud. Between the two of them, our lives have become a continuous spelling bee.

I fear that I am getting Charlie and Katie’s nasty bug. Grr. I don’t have time to be sick. Having to deal with one fewer obligation is a good thing at this point. I am still looking at my priorities and things to do and trying to figure out what is next to go. At this point, something really has to. Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes on this. It really is appreciated.
